It's green, it's clean, and in sunny California solar power sounds like a no-brainer.  Whether your concern is saving the planet, or simply saving yourself a whole lot of dollars solar power is the way to go and Madera Electrician Pros are your local experts to explain just what bringing a little sunshine into your electrical systems can do for your home and your monthly bills.

How It Works
Solar powered electricity, or photovoltaic systems are panels of photovoltaic cells connected up and sealed behind a glass cover in an aluminum panel. Those panels can be placed discretely on roofs or other sites that get direct sunlight.  When the sun shines on them they convert that sunlight directly into DC power which typically charges batteries and is converted to AC current to power your home.  The more solar power you are using, the less power you need to pay for from the grid.

Full Solar Audit
To make the most of the switch to solar the process starts with a full assessment of your home's solar potential and its limitations.  Madera Electrician Pros can do that for you based on our long customer experience right here in California.  We can help you estimate your solar needs, and how you are going to integrate solar with other sources of energy.  We can also help you with available financing initiatives to reduce your costs and help estimate long term savings from switching to solar.

Panel Installation
There are many ways of mounting solar panels.  Sloping roof mounts, flat roof mounts, and ground mounts are all possible.  You might even want to consider creating a totally new area to catch the sun – like a solar car panel for example.  Madera Electrician Pros can help you decide what is best for your property to get the most efficiency from the sun without spoiling the look of your home.

Batteries and Inverters
Once you've captured the power of the sun you need to store it.  There are many different options for battery systems for your home and a number of ways of using the DC (direct current) charge that they store. From the battery the charge is then passed to an inverter which converts it to AC (alternating current) for use in your home's main electrical supply.  Or a system known as a grid-tied inverter can connect solar panels directly to an inverter which pumps the power straight into your home mains. Let Madera Electrician Pros explain the different options you can choose from so you can come to the decision that works best.

Commercial
Every watt of energy your solar panels produce is a watt of energy that doesn't appear on your utilities bill. So it makes sense for business as much as for home use.  With the difference that a lot of businesses have larger roof spaces available for arrays of solar panels, and are often less worried about hiding panels away out of sight. Which means more possible space for solar and more possible savings for you. Let Madera Electrician Pros take a look at your commercial property and talk you through what solar could do for your business.
